Amazing Hands-on Learning about Vietnamese Cooking Today!

Thanks to Gavin's mom Lynn, we had a really fun morning learning all about Vietnamese cuisine. The big question was: Do you live to eat or Do you eat to live?

We learned about tropical fruits, the importance of farmers, and gained a renewed appreciation for how hard it is to grow food and get it from the farm to the table.
Thank you Lynn for volunteering to come in to do this food lesson with us today.

Lynn made her own dipping sauce and told us all about rice paper: how it is made and what it can be used for once you dip it in water.
Salak, or snake fruit: delicious and full of iron.
Herbs like basil and mint are prevalent and aid in digestion. We tasted jicama too- so juicy!
