To exceed expectations:
- use precise vocabulary
- write about a season or an abstract idea
- respect the form (3 lines) and syllable count (5-7-5)
- choose appropriate, specific verbs and colours

Heritage Fair April 28

Heritage Fair will take place in the gym on Thursday, April 28. There will be two separate showings 1-3 pm and 5-6 pm. We encourage everyone to attend.

Math Test- Tuesday, April 19

There will be a math on our fractions unit next Tuesday, April 19th.
Please complete and review pages 83-95 in your JUMP Math workbook.

ANIE math quiz-April 12

We'll have a quiz on a real life fraction question tomorrow. It will be an ANIE- one question that you will use your numeracy skills to solve- by estimating, illustrating, calculating, and creating another real-life use for fractions. Samples are on page 93 so finish up to there in your JUMP Math book.

Transformation art- materials due April 12

Please bring in consumer goods- cups, napkins, chopsticks, etc for our Brian Jungen inspired transformation art. What sculpture will your group create using every day, throw away items?

Some final advice for those Heritage Fair reports

You're almost done with your reports. Here is a photo of our class web on what to include to make your good copy strong and interesting. Due date: April 11!

Heritage Fair Poster Boards

Poster Boards are needed for Heritage Fair by Thursday, April 7. They can be purchased at Michael's and Staples. They should be 36 inches by 48 inches.

What would you say and how would you illustrate it if you were a street artist? In the same style as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, division 1 took to the walls of the VAG today and the results were outstanding. Take a look:
